Please don’t judge a man’s knowledge of health and nutrition by his tie selection.. Dr StephanJ. Guyenet is a researcher in the fields of neurodegenerative diseases and neuroscience of body fatness. He explains the major health transition the United States has gone through over the past 150 years. This transition has included an increase in the prevalence of obesity, diabetes and coronary heart disease. Dr Guynuynet explains how these conditions are heavily influenced by our food choices on a day to day basis. He also goes into great detail about how the standard American diet has changed dramatically over the past century and provides qualitative and quantitative data showing this change in diet promotes modern diseases. Dr Stephan J. Guyenet has spent a total of 12 years in the neuroscience world studying neurodegenerative disease and the neuroscience of body fatness. His publications in scientific journals have been cited more then 2,100 times. Today, Stephan continues his mission to advance science and public health as a researcher, science consultant, and science communicator. His book, The Hungry Brain, was released in February 2017 and was named one of the best books of the year by Publishers Weekly and called “essential” by the New York Times Book Review. Stephan is a Senior Fellow at GiveWell and scientific reviewer for the Examine.com Research Digest.
