We are hardwired to look for palatable, calorie dense foods. .


Foods that are highly palatable and high in calories cause dopamine to be released in the brain, which then causes us to want to seek out these foods in an addictive fashion. That does not mean you will become addicted by eating these foods, but we need to realize that we are going to have a higher degree of impulsivity to want to eat these types of foods if we are eating them on a regular basis.
